Star Flower crochet pattern in Irish Crochet Style

The following flower pattern is based on an antique Irish crochet motif from Priscilla Irish Crochet Book. We're going to use  padding cord in the central part while the two petal rows are created in an open structure with picots.

How to Crochet a Star Flower in Irish Crochet Style?

Crochet Yarn

  • crochet cotton Size 10 colour = white.

Crochet Hook

  • 1.75 mm steel hook.

Start: Wind the thread 10 times around the tip of the little finger. Slip off the loops and make

R1: 24sc, join with sl st,Star Flower crochet petal

R2: (5ch, 1picot, 4ch, skip 1 st in the ring, 1sc in next st) x 12, sl st up to centre of 1st loopStar Flower crochet petals - first row

R3: (5ch, 1 picot, 4ch, 1sc in the next loop) x 12. Finish with sl st. Fasten off.
