CROCHET PATTERNS (Flower Pattern #87 Bearberry) – 365 Crochet Flowers Bouquet Project


Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) is an evergreen woody flowering shrub. The flowers are white with an urn-shaped corolla and 5 small pink tinged lobes. They turn into red berries in the autumn, about 1cm in diameter.

How to Crochet a Bearberry Flower?

Crochet Yarn

  • Crochet cotton Size 5 colour A = white, colour C = white/pink multi
  • Embroidery cotton (6strands) colour B = pink.

Crochet Hook

  • 1.75 mm steel hook.

Details of components

  • urn-shaped corolla with 5 small, pink tinged lobes.

Crochet Flower Pattern

Start: using A and 1.75mm hook make 3ch, join in ring with sl st, 1ch

R1: 6sc in the ring, join with sl st, 1ch

R2: make 2sc in each sc = 12sts, join with sl st, 1ch continue in spiral making 54sc, 1ch

R3: (2sts-sc dec, 4sc)x 2 = 10sts, 1ch,

R4: 10sc, join with sl st, change to colour B

R5: 10sc, join with sl st, 1ch

R6: [(1sc, 1dc) in next st, (1dc, 1sc) in next sc]x5, join with sl st in the first colour B sc. Fasten off B.

Crochet Branched StemBearberry crochet stem

Start: using colour C and 1.75m hook, make 10ch, skip 1st ch and make 9sl st, make 8ch, skip 1st ch and make 7sl st, make 12ch, skip 1st ch and make 11sl st, make 8ch, skip 1st ch and make 7sl st. Make sl st in the first ch, to close the branch.

Crochet LeafBearberry crochet leaf

Start: using colour C and 1.75m hook, make 16ch, skip first 3 ch and make 6dc, 5hdc, 2sc, 1ch, pivot and continue on the other edge of the chain with 2sc, 5hdc, 5dc, (3dc) in the last ch, sl st in the 16th ch.


Stitch the end of the stems to the end of the flowers. Stitch the leaf to the branched stem.Bearberry assemble stem & leafBearberry assemble flower & stem
