CROCHET PATTERNS (Flower Pattern #80 Brugmansia * Angel Trumpet) – 365 Crochet Flowers Bouquet Project

Introduction

Brugmansia, also known Angel Trumpet is a small woody tree or bush, with large trumpet-shaped, pendulous flowers. The colour varies from white to pink, yellow to orange, even green or red.

How to Crochet an Angel Trumpet Flower?

Crochet Yarn

  • Crochet cotton colour A = orange, colour B = green.

Crochet Hook

  •  1mm steel hook, 1.75 mm steel hook.

Details of components

  • trumpet shaped flowers with ridges dividing the trumpet into 5 sections.

Crochet Flower Pattern

Start: using B and 1.75mm hook, make 4ch, join with sl st, 1ch, and continue in round

R1: 4sc in ring, join with sl st, 1ch,

R2: 12sc in spiral (no joining) change to A and fasten off B.

R3: using A make 8sc in spiral, join with sl st, 1ch (you have 4 sc on top row)Brugmansia flower crochet trumpet

R4: (make 2sc in next sc, 1sc in next sc) repeat 2 times = 6sc, join with sl st, 1ch

R5: 6sc, join with sl st, 1ch

R6: (make 2sc in next sc, 1sc in next sc) repeat 2 times, make 2sc in next sc, 2sc in next sc) = 10sc, join with sl st, 1ch

R7: 10sc, join with sl st, 1chBrugmansia trumpet from the back

R8: (1sc, make 3sc in next sc) repeat 5 times = 20sc, join with sl st, 1ch

R9: 20sc, join with sl st, 1ch

R10: (make 2sc in next sc, 1sc) repeat 10 times = 30sc, join with sl st. Fasten off A.

We’ll make 5 equidistant ridges on top of the trumpet and finish with a few chains.

Ridges

Using 1mm hook and colour C starting from below colour B tube, (pick up st and make sl st) repeat 10 times, continue with 4ch. Brugmansia- divide trumpet to make the 5 ridges

Make 5 equidistant ridges. Fasten off the threads below the colour B tube only. Squeeze the 5 sides of the trumpet to give it a nice shape.

Conclusion

This is it!  The crochet Brugmansia flower is ready!
