CROCHET PATTERNS (Crochet Flower Pattern #120 Pink Dahlia) – 365 Crochet Flowers Bouquet Project

About Dahlia

Dahlia is a herbaceous, perennial plant native to the Americas, and actually it is the national flower of Mexico. There are many species and hybrids grown commonly as garden plants for their attractive colour display.

The plants are grown in Europe since late eighteenth century, firstly in Spain and later being distributed throughout the continent. Some of the species have single flowers, others are double. The colours vary, from reds to pinks, yellows to purple, with blue colour being the only exception. The flowers vary as well, from small ones, just 2 inch in diameter to huge sizes up to 1ft in diameter.

How to Crochet a Dahlia Flower?

Marlene, one of my blog readers found this pattern written in Portuguese (blogger Amalia) and couldn't work it out. I'm coming to the rescue and will attempt to re-write it using US crochet terms.

My attempt is not to translate the instructions since I do not speak Portuguese, but rather to interpret the photos and re-write them in US crochet terms.
