CROCHET PATTERNS (Crochet Flower Pattern #133 Bleeding Heart) – 365 Crochet Flowers Bouquet Project

About Bleeding Heart

Bleeding Heart (Lamprocapnos spectabilis) is an ornamental perennial plant native to Eastern Asia. This plant has the funniest names that you could imagine: Venus’s car, Lady in a bath, Lyre flower and Dutchman’s trousers.

The leaves are compound with 3 leaflets. The flowers bloom in late spring, early summer. They are heart-shaped with pink outer petals and white inner petals and hang off a horizontal raceme. Check out pattern 134 for this plant's leaf.

Do you have a leaf pattern to match this flower? I want to make an entire plant. It’s the theme plant for liberals and I’m proud to be a “bleeding heart” because it means I have compassion! 🙂

  2. Thanks for the idea, Kelly. I will make it and post it tomorrow.

I think I posted on the incorrect page re the bleeding heart. I have crochet the bleeding section in
Crochet thread and baby size yarn. I am unable to put the two right side in front. Have to use outside and right side to match. What did I do wrong in crocheting the pieces . Love the pattern and hopefully can get this corrected. Thanks

  6. Michelle says:

Beautiful! Thank you for the pattern.
