About Hyacinth

Hyacinths (Hyacintus) are bulbous flowering plants native to Eastern Mediterranean, Iran and Turkmenistan.

The plant has a single spike of very fragrant flowers. The colour ranges from whites, pinks and violets, even yellow and red. The most common species is called Hyacinthus orientalis, or Garden Hyacinth.

R2: 6sc, join with sl st, 1ch,

R3: same

R4: turn on WS (1sc, 8ch, 1sl st in the 3rd ch from hook, 1hdc and dc in next 4ch, make 1sc in the next sc in the ring) repeat 3 times = 3 large petalsHyacinth crochet petals

R5: make 1 sl st into the last dc from petal on right hand side; * make 6ch 1sl st in the 2nd ch from hook and hdc in next 4ch, make 1sl st into the last dc from petal on left hand side. Repeat one time from * = 3 small petals.

Fasten off A.

I run out of yarn and time so I only managed to make 3 florets , but you should make as many as you can. The flower spike will look best with a dense flower arrangement.

StamensHyacinth crochet flower with stamens

While I have liked your patterns for a long time I just now have gotten the tools and courage to try one . I am not used, to using such small hooks, any suggestions? Also if the hook size is off it just makes your flower bigger right ,the closest I can find is 1.5 !
